You’re here because you’re trying to find space to work on what matters most to you.
An impactful idea.
A book which you’ve been dreaming about writing.
A course to share your gifts with other people.
A new project that excites you but you’ve been putting off for a while.
A website that showcases your products or services.
You may have been thinking about it for a while but your day-to-day life hasn’t given you the opportunity to explore and move it forward. You’re busy with other things. There’s always something more urgent to focus on instead. Even when you do get time, you waste it with shallow work.
The weeks pass by and still, you haven’t made any headway on your big idea.
I see you. I’ve been in the same position too. Many times.
Like me, you may dream about a cabin in the woods.
A place far away from the countless distractions of modern life where it’s just you and your important idea. Where you can fully immerse yourself into your work. But that seems unrealistic given your current obligations and everything else that’s going on in your life.
And if you’re honest with yourself, even if you could go to a cabin in the woods, would you be able to do the deep work required to bring your important project to life? Left to your devices, you may find you’ll do anything other than sit down and do the work.
In my experience, working alongside others helps to keep me focused on the task at hand.
You too may have tried coworking and noticed the positive effect it can have on your work. Seeing everyone else around you working can provide the motivation to help you overcome procrastination and distractions.
That’s why in May 2021, I created the cabin – a virtual coworking space where I welcome other conscious creators and changemakers to work alongside me on what really matters to them.
Coworking is great for shared accountability but here’s how the cabin is different.
We don’t just need time and space to do the work and the people beside us to keep us accountable. To focus deeply on a specific task, you also need to prepare your body, mind and spirit. Just launching into a working session and hoping for the best rarely works.
Intentionality is key.
That’s why at the cabin, mindfulness is added into the mix.
Each cabin session starts with gentle movement and stretching to wake up your body and notice how your body is feeling. This is followed by a guided meditation to focus your mind and connect yourself to the work that matters most to you. From here, each participant sets a meaningful intention for the working session ahead.
We then move into the working sprint for 52 minutes. ‘Why 52 minutes?’ you may ask. It’s the optimal length of time individuals are able to focus in one session according to a productivity study run by DeskTime.
We complete each session by reflecting on our work.
”In just a couple of weeks, this has become a ‘definite attend’ and look forward to. Work in its most healthy state! It has already started to positively affect the rest of my week.” ~ Chris Shepard, Eco Founder
At the cabin, we ran over 500 mindful online coworking sessions. These sessions are incredibly helpful when you need to focus on a specific task. However, to significantly move the really big and meaningful projects forward, one-off focused working sessions are just not enough.
This is why I created the cabin intensive.
This is a half-day online event consisting of three mindful online coworking sessions, with meditations, movement, check-ins, reflections, celebrations, and connections. All from the comfort of your own home.
When you sign up to the intensve, I’ll share with you how to set up a distraction-free environment, how to prepare your body, mind and soul as well as how to create states of flow from which you can access deeper levels of focus and creative insight during your working sessions.
You will also be given instructions on how to prepare and make the most out of each of the three sessions and so you can dive into your work as soon as the intensive starts.
“What I love most about the cabin is that it combines coworking and mindfulness, which allows me to access a deeper state of focus and get more done.” ~ Caroline Leon, Business Coach
On the day of the cabin intensive, we’ll start with a short introduction where all participants present what they are going to work on.
Before each of the three working sessions, we’ll move our bodies and dive into a grounding meditation.
Each session is followed by a 15-minute restorative break to manage our energy levels.
We’ll complete the cabin intensive by reflecting on the working sessions and our time together.
Here is what past participants are saying about the cabin intensive.
The investment for the preparation session and the half-day intensive is €25 (~£21).
